ZIP Code The address component identifying the delivery points served by a single post office (though some post offices serve more than one ZIP Code). ZIP Codes were established by the U.S. Postal Service in 1963.

ZIP Code Tabulation Area A geographical area approximating a U.S. Postal Service ZIP Code coverage area. ZCTA's were developed by the U.S. Census Bureau for reporting Census data.

Hawaiian Zip 96718 (at the very bottom) only has 20 stops. The reason? The white plume of smoke visible in the satellite image is coming from an active volcano. The gray area is hardened lava.
