Exchange |
A telephone
call switching unit serving a specific geographical area.
Also referred to as NXX. Identified by the 3 digits
following the area code in a phone number. Some scopings are
by telephone exchange. |

reclassified as local calls. The implementation of EAS may impact directory
publishing and distribution. |
